I’d like to talk a little bit about the ways to build your practice by email marketing which is the cornerstone to making more money in any business. Sending emails to your existing patient database will accomplish a number of things, and all of them are good:
- emails will educate and inform your patients of the different services you provide that will solve their problems
- emails will build a stronger relationship with your patients and lead to more referrals
- emails will increase your monthly billings because of #1 and #2.

If you want to grow your practice, it probably won’t happen automatically. You’re going to have to be pro-active. Which means, you are going to have to plan and implement something to make that growth happen.
Start with realistic goals. If you want to increase your billings by 5%, determine what you bill monthly now. If you are billing $100,000 per month then you need just $5000/month…that’s only about $1,250 per week. If your average billing per patient is $200 then that’s only 6 more appointments.
Let’s say I’ve got 800 active patients, I only have to get 1/3 of them to come in one extra time. How about your inactive patients? Create a marketing program to get a small percentage back or why not get your existing patients to get you one referral.
